SORRY, WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS AT THIS TIME

The Absurdist is looking to publish your oddest, most peculiar flash fiction and illustrations. Let it be farcical, let it be unsettling, let it be both. For content we ask only that your work be cohesively and creatively nonsensical. If you’re interested, check out some previous issues, review our guidelines below, and submit away.

Things to know:

We accept work from all races, religions, countries of origin, sexual orientations, and genders.

Free speech is essential to art, and making others uncomfortable is essential to art, but The Absurdist will not publish hateful content or any work that intends to intimidate others. That is not art; that is bullying. If you must create these things, please submit them elsewhere.

Should your submission be accepted: Authors and artists retain all rights to their work after publication, though we may repost your work on the internet (with proper acknowledgement to you, of course), or use it to help promote the mag, or reprint it in some future anthology-type thing.
